The Musical Journey And Career Of Roop Kumar Rathod


Roop Kumar Rathod was born in 1973, he was a playback singer, Ghazal singer, music director. He was the son of late Pandit Chatrubhuj Rathod, a classical luminary. Mr. Roop Kumar Rathod was introduced to the world of music in his very early age. Though in the beginning he was a Tabla player but his passion toward the playback singing is very much and he started his career as a playback singer in 1989 with a song “Mei Tera Aashiq Hun” from the movie “Gumraah”. He played Table for many famous Indian singers and he has sung for many of the film stars as a playback singer.

As he has been in this field since his childhood so he quickly became an expert artist and he was the voice of Shahrukh Khan in different movies like Veer Zaara, Rab Ne Bana DI Jodi, Anwar, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Me, Veer and many other movies. These Indian video songs and the song from a military movie Border “Sandese Aate Hain” become extremely popular among the civilian and especially the Army personnel. Beside this, his best ever songs include “Kho Diye Jitne Lamhe” and “Zindagi Maut Na Ban Jaye” etc. He marries Sunali Rathod and they both sing together different beautiful numbers for different movies as playback singers.

He not only sings for Bollywood but he sang a number of songs for Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali and Punjabi songs. He has also performed in many different shows and concerts with different singers. Mr. and Mrs. Rathod they both sung some beautiful songs together like Laga Chunari Mei Daagh, Dunya Ke Rakhwale, Albela Sajan and Chalte Chalte. He composes music for different movies like Zeher, Madhoshi, Who Tera Naam Tha etc. The sibling together produces a Sufi Album too.
